The fight went very well and photos/video should be up shortly.  I have to give my opponent, Sean Sheril a lot of credit, he did not give in and gave it all he had.  It was also great to see over 100 of my friends and supporters at the event, despite being on a Thursday night in a very remote location.

It felt great to be back in the ring and even better knowing that I am back for my own reasons; I’m planning on moving forward and training as hard as I can for the next one as well, which is against Kit Cope on May 30th at Viejas Casino.

In preparation for my fight on April 23rd, I’ve been spending some time at the newly formed MMA team at The Arena training center in San Diego.  The new gym is located only a few doors down from Saulo and Xande Riberio’s University of Jiu-Jitsu and as you can see, already a good group of guys are coming in to train.  Some of the faces include the legendary BJJ player Xande Ribiero, Strikeforce fighters “Morango” and Waylon, Bellator fighter Diego and TUF alum Joe Duarte.

Here’s a good picture of my good friend and South Torrance High School classmate, Matt Rollins, right before the start of the second annual South High Faculty Smackdown.  It is organized by the head wrestling coach as a fund raiser for his wrestling team and he packs the gym with students going nuts watching teachers and alumni give each other a beat down.  Luckily for me, Matt was not my opponent on this night!
